Here are the Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) dates relevant to Nebraska. These dates are essential for farmers to ensure compliance with crop insurance policies.

SPRING PLANTED CROPS

  • Sales Closing Date: March 15
    Deadline to purchase or modify MPCI policies for spring-planted crops (e.g., corn, soybeans, spring wheat).

  • Acreage Reporting Date: July 15
    Deadline to report planted acres to your insurance agent and the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA).

  • Premium Billing Date: August 15
    Date when crop insurance premiums are due for most spring-planted crops.

  • Final Planting Date:

    • Corn: May 25 (varies slightly by region)

    • Soybeans: June 10

    • Grain Sorghum: June 5

  • End of Late Planting Period:

    • Corn: Approximately June 14 (20 days after final planting date)

    • Soybeans: Approximately June 30 (20 days after final planting date)

  • Production Reporting Date: April 29 (following year)
    Date to submit production records for yield-based policies.

    Deadline to purchase or renew MPCI policies for fall-planted crops.

  • Acreage Reporting Date: November 15
    Deadline to report planted winter wheat acres to insurance providers and the FSA.

    Premium billing for fall-planted crops like winter wheat.

  • Final Planting Date (Winter Wheat): Approximately October 15
    Varies by county within Nebraska.

  • End of Late Planting Period (Winter Wheat): Approximately October 30
